HUSTL

A Revit add-in that holds a project to its BIM standard. Naming, shared parameters, sheets, model checks, and handover to Navisworks and ACC. It installs under your own Windows account, adds its own ribbon tab, and updates itself after that.

Getting access

HUSTL runs on machines we have approved. Downloading is open to anyone; installing on a new machine registers it with us and puts it in the approval queue.

  1. Unpack the whole folder. Keep the files together. HUSTL Setup.exe reads the package sitting next to it.
  2. Run HUSTL Setup.exe. It installs for your Windows account and asks for no admin rights.
  3. On a machine we have not approved, the installer stops and checks it with us. It sends that computer's ID and nothing else. Nothing from your models is read or sent.
  4. We approve the machine, and you run the installer again. The install goes through. Open Revit and HUSTL appears as its own ribbon tab.

Before you start

  • Close Revit while the installer runs.
  • The computer needs an internet connection while the installer runs, so it can check your approval.
  • This build covers Revit 2023, and Revit 2025 and newer. The installer also puts the 2023 build into Revit 2021, 2022 and 2024 if it finds them. We have not tested those three, so tell us if one misbehaves.
  • Approval covers one computer. A second computer needs its own approval, and so does a machine that has been reimaged.

If something stops you

The installer says this machine is not approved

That is the expected first run. The installer has already sent us the machine ID and there is nothing for you to copy out. Email us that you are waiting, and run the installer again once we confirm.

The installer cannot reach us

Corporate firewalls filter by category and have blocked us before. Email us and we will send your IT team the address to allow, or send you a package that carries its own approval and installs with no network access.

Windows warns about the file

Windows does not recognise the publisher yet, so SmartScreen flags the file. Choose More info, then Run anyway. If you would rather confirm the file before running it, email us and we will check it with you.

HUSTL does not appear in Revit

Close Revit fully and run the installer again. The installer writes into your own user profile, so a Revit session that was open while it ran will not see the new tab.
